Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level use initiative and judgment to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.
They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyze and synthesize information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Entry Requirements
The Training Package states that entry to this qualification is limited to students who:
• Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).
or
• Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise
Cass Training International College has the following additional entry requirements:
International students must:
• Be at least 18 years of age and must have completed at least the equivalent of Year 12.
• Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old).
Course Duration
This qualification will be delivered over 104 weeks, including 72 weeks of training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 9 weeks each and 32 weeks of holidays.
Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components and those classes cater to a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills-based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.
The timing for this course will be advised in the Letter of Offer.

This course will be delivered in a classroom-based setting which includes the simulation of workplace-based environment and through structured online study.

Course Structure
The BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management requires the successful completion of five (5) core units and five (5) elective units. Course progress
Note that for international students, satisfactory course progress is required in order to meet visa requirements. Students who are identified as being at risk of not meeting course progress requirements will be provided with additional support as recorded in an intervention strategy.
When a student does not meet the course requirements for two consecutive terms they may be reported to DoHA via PRISMS as required under section 19 of the ESOS Act 2000 and this may result in their visa being cancelled.
Enrolment and Orientation
Upon acceptance of a student’s application for enrolment, a letter of offer, as well as a written agreement including payment schedule, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all provided information as it will provide all necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer and written agreement are received.
The first day of each course will include orientation and induction. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services, and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.

All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them achieve competency. This includes:
- Academic and personal support.
- Referral to external support services.
Training Arrangements
Students are required to attend classes for 2 days or 3 evenings a week (14 hours) as well as complete structured online study outside the classroom for 6 hours which will be monitored. Timetable information will be provided at the orientation. Students may commence this course at any available intake.
Assessment Arrangements
Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including projects incorporating role-plays, case studies and short answer questions. Assessment conditions will ensure a simulated workplace environment.
Assessment tasks:
- Reflect on real-life work tasks.
- Are required to be performed within industry standard timeframes as specified by assessors in relation to each task.
- Are assessed using assessment criteria that relate to the quality of work expected by the industry.
- Are performed to industry safety requirements as relevant.
- Utilize authentic workplace documentation.
- Require students to work with others as part of a team.
- Require students to plan and prioritize competing work tasks.
- Involve the use of standard, workplace equipment such as computers and software.
- Ensure that students are required to consider workplace constraints such as time and budgets.
At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.

Course Credit
Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning).
For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.
The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.
If course credit is granted following the issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced duration.
